| Purpose: | The Cultureflux email list is a forum for discussing and sharing information about mainstream and non-mainstream art, entertainment, and culture in DC. It is directly associated with Cultureflux.com (http://www.cultureflux.com, DC's newest online magazine for art and culture. Our goal is to inform and support the area's art and cultural community. Subscribers are encouraged to post opinions about the local scene...We just ask that you follow the guidelines below. CULTUREFLUX POSTING FAQ (please read before posting, failure to adhere to posting guidelines may result in removal from the list or inability to post in the future). *Postings should be 200 words or less. * Please lurk for a little while before posting to get a better sense of what the list is all about. Better yet, check out the list archive. 1. What can I post to the list? Discussions or opinions pertaining to local art and culture. * If you plan to be away from your email and are using an "Out of Office" auto-responder, please remember to temporarily disable your subscription until you return. * Flames and spam will not be tolerated and will result in immediate removal from the list. * Please, no resumes or "position wanted" posts. Companies interested in posting "Help wanted" ads for DC arts-related jobs should contact the list owner first. * No attachments of any type: vcards, graphics, files, animated gifs 2. How do I post to the list? It's easy; just email your message to: cultureflux@topica.com -- Please include an all-cap header in the subject line of your email. Using a CAPITALIZED HEADER makes it easier for people to scan posts and read or delete as it suits them. Examples are: QUESTION (for posting questions or answers), DISCUSSION, SUMMARY: (to summarize answers which have been posted to a question. Example: QUESTION: What did you think of the XYZ performance at Acme Theater Company? 3. Who else is on the list? Although the list is private, we can tell you that there are people from most of the major galleries, theaters, and print media in the area, as well as non-profits, radio, TV, smaller theater companies, musicians, photographers, writers, PR people, graphic designers, dotcommers, filmmakers, actors, interns, politicos, entrepreneurs of types and others. |
